Background

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
~ Anaïs Nin.
Hi there.
My name is Brooke Beighle.

A little background...
I live in Missoula, Montana, and am a fifth generation Montanan. I am a creative person who thinks and feels deeply, loves animals, music and art, and is slowly becoming a plant lady. My current perspective of mental health has been deeply informed by my personal journey with integration and therapy, the guidance of numerous teachers, the influence of my community, the intersecting identities I hold, and the diverse experiences I've shared with individuals who have different worldviews than my own. As a therapist and human being, I am committed to my own process in therapy and reflection so I can continue to show up for myself and others.
Before pursuing a career as a counselor, I spent over 20 years studying voice and performing music (and still do!), and taught trauma-informed voice lessons to singers and performers. I also trained as a therapeutic breathwork practitioner where I focused on helping others reestablish safety in their nervous systems. When my counselor hat is off, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, seeing live music, and being in comfortable solitude somewhere in nature.
CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
While completing my clinical training toward my master's degree in counselor education, I provided trauma-informed individual counseling to survivors of sexual, relational, and identity-based harm at the Student Advocacy Resource Center (SARC) at the University of Montana in Missoula, and co-facilitated a survivor support group for UM students. I also had the honor of being a sexual assault advocate for adult adult victims of abuse or assault at First Step Resource Center at Providence St. Patrick Hospital. In addition, I counseled undergraduate students and student athletes from diverse cultural backgrounds at the Counselor Training Center through the University of Montana's Department of Education. Before starting my private practice, I worked as a clinical therapist at Montana DBT Associates where I provided comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to teens and adults. I co-facilitated teen, parent, and adult DBT skills groups, provided parent consultations and collaborated with community medical providers for integrative care.
I am part of Waxwing Psychotherapy, LLP, a Missoula-based group practice located in Missoula. I receive clinical supervision from practice owners Samuel Ore, LCSW, and Leah Ore, LCSW.
